R.R.S Discovery Dundee 30th March 2008

ally March 30th, 2008

Today Wedding Solutions staged a mock wedding on the RRS Discovery. It was good chance for some of the great wedding suppliers in Dundee to show how they would play their part in your wedding. The Bridal party and wedding guests were all willing volunteers, who put on a great show for the crowds on the balcony of Discovery Point. The Dresses were all provided by Scottish Brides and the guys were kitted out by McCalls. The bride arrived in style in a beautiful Royale Windsor car provided by Chauffeurs of Carnoustie and driven by Percy who always ensures that his brides are treated like princesses. The bridemaids arrived in a Bramwith car again provided by Chauffeurs of Carnoustie and the Groom and his Best Man and page Boy were driven to their “wedding” in a wedding bus provided by High Society. The couple were piped up the gangway by Gordon from Piping Solutions where a ceremony was conducted by The Dundee Registrars, of course it was all just pretend and none of the bridal party new each other and the ceremony was videoed by the bride’s real husband! In true Scottish style in rained throughout the whole ceremony and in fact it turned to hailstones as the couple walked down from the ship after the ceremony where I had planned to do some photography on the quayside. But just like in a real wedding no one has any control over the weather. Percy from Chauffeurs popped some champagne with one hand and held a large white brolly with the other, and everyone was still smiling. I have shown you just a sample of the photographs that were taken and hopefully if you braved the rain and came out to watch the ceremony you will have got some idea as to how I work on your wedding day. Thanks everyone for coming and to all those who took part and made it possible, especially Monifieth Amateur Dramatics. The flowers were by Acanthus, the cake by Sheila Brown Cake Artistry, the Band were The Avenue, and the favours were from Favours by Design P.S. Congratulations to Alison and Paul who were married yesterday. The couple chose to have their reception at the Apex where they both work.Alison looked stunning in a fabulously slinky cream dress. The sun shone as they walked out of the Convent on the Law as husband and wife. They even managed to have a drive with the hood down in the open top car that Chauffeurs of Carnoustie provided . Ps Don’t forget to pass on this blog link to your friends and family and leave a comment about the photosap2803081491.jpg ap280308227.jpgap280308241.jpgap280308277.jpg The photographs from Alison and Paul’s wedding are online at http://allystuartweddings.co.uk/recentweddings.html http://allystuartweddings.co.uk/photocart/

Susan and Douglas 15th March 2008 Guthrie Castle

ally March 17th, 2008

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a wonderful couple Susan and Douglas. They had a private civil ceremony followed by a Celtic handfastening ceremony. Susan looked amazing in a beautiful and very unusual wedding dress made of tartan. Their hands were joined during the ceremony with a tartan band and they had to remain joined until they went to bed. They started married life together by jumping over a ceremonial broom. Their 3 children looked on and all took their special part in the day. Guthrie Castle was a perfect setting for this special day and the walled gardens and were a fabulous setting for their photographs. Thanks so much for asking me to join in your day, here is just a little preview of your photographs, Ally
